SERVICES
The Urban Underground Youth Empowerment Center is open to members Monday-Thursday from 3:00pm - 8:00pm. Please click on the "Events" page for up-to-date schedule of activities. 

TECH CENTER
The technology center features state-of-the art computers with high speed internet for academic, media, and (limited) social networking use. The lab is open to members daily from 3:00pm - 7:30pm. 

LEARNING CENTER
The learning center is a space dedicated for members to focus on homework or other assignments away from the organized madness occurring in the rest of the center. Tutors are available on specific days to provide support to students throughout week. See "events" page for specific dates/times. 

YOUTH LAW AND POLICY CENTER
This center is staffed by the ACLU Youth and Civil Liberties program and is available for members to get advice regarding legal matters including: student rights, civil rights, child-labor laws, traffic citations, immigration issues, court procedures, driver license recovery, and more. 

CRISIS INTERVENTION & REFERRAL
Urban Underground Directors are on call 24 hours a day to provide referral and intervention services to members and their families. Interventions are determined on a case-by-case basis. Examples of interventions include: redirecting a suspended student, assisting a member in escaping an abusive relationship or living situation, and helping families access emergency public assistance services. 

DIGITAL MEDIA LAB
This Lab is reserved for members working on projects related to digital media including graphic design, photography, digital music production, video editing, and animation.

PROGRAMS
Members of Urban Underground have access to a variety of opportunities designed to build knowledge, and transferable skills for college, careers, and life-long leadership. 

YOUTH ORGANIZING MILWAUKEE (YO Milwaukee)
This program provides an opportunity for teens from different backgrounds to come together and address critical community issues. Members learn how to identify problems, research solutions, mobilize peers, and work for collective improvements in their schools and neighborhoods. If you are interested in law, politics, or simply working for justice this program is for you! 

REEL
This program is designed for youth to explore, understand, and transform their world through media. Members receive access, training, and support to express themselves using video, photography, print, audio, and web-based social marketing. If you are an aspiring producer, director, editor, journalist, or social networking genius this program is for you!

ON RAMP
ON RAMP is an independent program established to increase diversity in the creative industry. ON RAMP brings creative organizations and teens together to expose them to the breadth of jobs in the creative industry and inspire them to pursue careers in interactive media and design. Urban Underground is a host site for the 2010 ON RAMP program. For more info about ON RAMP visit www.onrampmke.org 

BROTHERS & SISTERS UNITED
Brothers United and Sisters United are two separate programs designed for young men and young women to discuss and address issues specific to their development as young women and young men.

WORKSHOPS
Workshops are held on a weekly basis and are open to members and their guests. Facilitated by Urban Underground staff, workshops focus on a range of topics including: leadership, financial literacy, job skills, preparing for college, goal setting, effective communication, character development, anti-oppression training, histories of social movements, anger management, conflict resolution, drug & alcohol abuse prevention, teen domestic violence, faith & healing, self-advocacy, and more. Please visit the "events" page for schedule of workshops. You must be a member or be invited by a member to participate. 

FUN FRIDAYS
Anyone that has ever been apart of Urban Underground will tell you that we know how to have FUN! Fun Friday's are held the First Friday of every month. Events are planned by members for members. Previous Fun Fridays have included bowling, skating, a movie, dinner, a concert, theatrical performance, open mic, and more. 

TRUE SKOOL
True Skool is an independent organization located inside the Urban Underground Youth Empowerment Center. True Skool uses cultural arts to promote positive social change in the community. They offer classes in music production, DJ'ing, MC'ing, dance, community beautification, and Hip Hop culture. Members of Urban Underground are automatically eligible to participate in all True Skool programming. For more info on True Skool visit: www.trueskool.org
